Fields of Battle - Italy, Mt.Tofana
View from Austrian position known as Edelweiss, which was the support area for the fort of Tre Sassi and the view is towards the Setas and Col de Lana which is the dark peak to the right of the two trees just right of centre. The war along the 80km Dolomite front was notable for the fact that about 2/3rds of the 90, 000 men who died in the three years of fighting were killed by lightning, storms, avalanches, landslides and rockfalls
