Ouvrage de Froidterre. 75mm turret showing shell strikes caused by post WW1 artillery testing Froidterre Built as an infantry defence post in 1888 it was reinforced with 2 x 75mm retracting turrets as well as machine gun bunkers and garrisoned by about 150 men. The Germans reached the fort on 23rd June but were driven back by artillery from Ft Charny on the opposite side of the Meuse
