Fort de Loncin
The Fort de Loncin is one of twelve forts built as part of the Fortifications of Liege in the late 19th century in Belgium, it was built in 1888 and was major part of defences of Liege. It was attacked on Aug 7th, the Belgians resisted until the 15th August when a German 420mm shell weighing about 800kgs penetrated the concrete and blew up the magazine, destroying a large part of the fort and killing over 300 men.Fort is triangular, about 300m wide at base, 235m each side
