Rossignol Woods
Frontier Battles - 15 kms south of Neufchateu. Aug 22nd 1914 - German VI Corps destroyed French 3rd Div of Colonial Infantry who suffered over 11, 000 casulaties with over 3000 dead including ttwo generals and 3 battalion commanders out of a force of 15, 000. The battle was foughty in a narrow front about 600m wide and marks one of the deadliest battlefields of WW1
