2 Headed Girl, Millie-Chrissie
Chrissie Millie McCoy (1851-1912), African-American conjoined twins born in North Carolina. They were enslaved from birth, but were talented and could sing and play the piano. In the 1800s conjoined twins were seen as medical freaks and were frequently part of traveling shows. Their 3rd owner showcased them around Europe and America, and they were frequently billed as The Two-Headed Nightingale'. In 1869 the twins issued a autobiography, History and Medical Description of the Two-Headed Girl
