Ana Nzinga, Angolan Queen
Ana Nzinga (1583-1663) was a Queen of the Ndongo and Matamba Kingdoms of the Mbundu people in Angola. Nzinga demonstrated an aptitude for defusing political crises with the Portuguese, fighting against colonization and later rebuilding a nation damaged by war and over-farming
