American Air force F-86 Sabre Jet flying by a 1912 model pusher biplane. This photograph represents the progress of four decades of aviation technology. The pusher was constructed and flown by Billy Parker. It weighed 1, 075 pounds and reached a speed of 60 miles an hour. The Sabre, developed in the 1940's, houses a 9, 000 horsepower General Electric turbo jet engine which propelled it to a world speed record of 670 miles an hour. It weighs 13, 715 pounds and in its pressurized cockpit a pilot can reach an altitude of above 40, 000 feet
