Catherine Booth, Co-Founder Salvation Army

Women played a prominent part in the pre-history and history of the Salvation Army, given its name in 1878. Catherine Booth worked closely with her husband, who called her the Army Mother. She was also mother of a large family, and is shown here with her daughters who learned at an early age to make the very most of their experience and study
