Charles Peter, English Surgeon
Charles Peter (1705-57), a surgeon who served King Charles during the Dutch wars. He was surgeon of the Horse Guards to King James and Surgeon of the Household to King William, daily preparing his Cordial Tincture and Pills, which have cured Thousands of the Collick, Stone, Gravell - Scurvie and Dropsey. He gave medical advice to rich and poor alike from his house in St. Martins Lane
