Chinese Acu-moxa Point Chart, 1869

This work survives only in a manuscript draft, completed in 1869 (8th year of the Tongzhi reign period of the Qing dynasty). The text states: The zhoujian point is located at the end of the elbow. Moxibustion at this point can cure scrofula (luoli). It is carried out on the right elbow if the left side of the body is affected by the disease, and on the left elbow if the right side is affected. However in the early stages of scrofula, moxibustion is first carried out on the left for male patients and the right for female patients. The efficacy is enhanced by simultaneously moxibusting the fengchi (Wind Pool) point. The fengchi point is located at the back of the head below the occipital bone (zhengu, lit.
