Dr. Albert Schweitzer, 1964
Dr. Albert Schweitzer (January 14, 1875 - September 4, 1965) in Lambarene, Gabon, November 1964. Born in Alsace (a part of Germany in 1875), Albert Schweitzer became a medical doctor at the age of 30 and devoted his life to providing Africans with much-needed healthcare. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 1952 and spent the remaining years of his life speaking out against nuclear weapons
