Edmund Beecher Wilson, American Geneticist

Edmund Beecher Wilson (1856-1939), circa 1929./nWilson was a pioneering American zoologist and geneticist. He wrote The Cell, a hightly influential textbook in modern biology, and discovered the chromosomal XY sex-determination system in 1905. Nettie Stevens independently made the same discovery the same year and published shortly thereafter
