Fra Angelico, Italian Renaissance Artist
Fra Angelico (1395 - February 18, 1455) was a Dominican friar and an Early Italian Renaissance painter. He pioneered many of the stylistic trends that distinguish the early Renaissance. Pope John Paul II beatified Fra Angelico on October 3, 1982, and in 1984 declared him patron of Catholic artists
