George M. Pullman, American Inventor
George Mortimer Pullman (1831-1897), Amercan inventor and industrialist. Pullman is known for his ingenuity in moving buildings out of the way of the Erie Canal in New York State and raising buildings in Chicago to enable a modern sewer system to be installed. He was also the inventor of the Pullman sleeping train car
