John and Sebastian Cabot, Italian Explorers
John Cabot (1450 - 1500) was an Italian navigator, explorer, and the first European to explore the continent of North America since the Vikings of the 11th century. Cabot was paid cash for discovering Newfoundland and given a pension. It is believed he drowned at sea. Sebastian Cabot (1474-1557) was John Cabot's son. He sailed with his father in the service of England
