Larry Rivers, 1964

Larry Rivers (August 17, 1923 aEUR August 14, 2002) designing the set of The Slave and the Toilet, by LeRoy Jones, at the St. Mark's Playhouse in Manhattan, 1964. Rivers, born Yitzrok Loiza Grossberg, began as a jazz saxophonist and was a contemporary and friend of Miles Davis. As a painter, he produced pop art that bordered on the abstract and became one of America's most important postwar artists
