Larry Rivers (August 17, 1923 aEUR August 14, 2002) and his son paint a billboard for the first New York Film Festival in Manhattan's Lincoln Square, 1963. Rivers, born Yitzrok Loiza Grossberg, began as a jazz saxophonist and was a contemporary and friend of Miles Davis. As a painter, he produced pop art that bordered on the abstract and became one of America's most important postwar artists
