Larry Rivers (August 17, 1923 aEUR August 14, 2002) paints Woman on the Moon in his Chelsea Hotel studio in 1964. He is joined here by Jill Johnson. Rivers, born Yitzrok Loiza Grossberg, began as a jazz saxophonist and was a contemporary and friend of Miles Davis. As a painter, he produced pop art that bordered on the abstract and became one of America's most important postwar artists
