Lava Falls, Kilauea, 1969
Lava fountaining from Mauna Ulu, on Kilauea's eastern flank, sent lava plunging into E??Alae Crater on August 5, 1969. The total height of the lava falls was more than 100m (330ft), higher than the American Falls at Niagara, and the width more than 300m (1000ft). Mauna Ulu erupted in phases from 1969 until 1974
