Mary Loomis, Radio School Operator
Feminine despite her occupation, Miss Mary Texanna Loomis, the only woman in the world to own and run a radio school, stops in the midst of a message from, say, Mars, to powder her nose. Loomis founded and ran the Loomis Radio School in Washington, D.C. She wrote a classic of early radio literature, Radio theory and operating, published in 1926. Photograph taken December 31st, 1921
