Neurofibromatosis
A case of neurofibromatosis (formerly Von Recklinghausen's disease), a congenital disease characterized by numerous benign (non-malignant) tumors growing from the fibrous coverings of nerves. The victim was a Hindu who considered that the thick growth of tumors had been visited on him because of a change in his religious opinions. Illustrated in an 1894 medical textbook
