Okavango Delta, Satellite Image

Creator of the world's largest inland delta, the Okavango River ends in a 6, 200 square mile alluvial sprawl that covers Kalahari sands. Fed by October-to-March rains, the river rises in the Angola highlands to the north, weaves through Namibia, and terminates here in Botswana, where its waters inspire a seasonal celebration among wildlife. Great numbers of buffalo, elephants, zebras, antelope and waterbirds materialize along the delta when the river's life sustaining waters run high
