Particle Collision in Bubble Chamber
Historic bubble chamber photograph from the Brookhaven National Laboratory. A 2.85 Bev proton from the Cosmotron collides with a proton in the liquid hydrogen bubble chamber. Six charged prongs emerge from the interaction, including four pi mesons, two of which decay by pi to Au-e decay. An unrelated beam track appears to pass through the vertex of this event
