Reflector Telescope of Ondrejov Observatory

The 2-meter (79-inch) reflector telescope of the Ondrejov Observatory. The Ondrejov Observatory is the principal observatory the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It is located near the village of Ondrejov, 35 km southeast of Prague. The facility was constructed in 1898 by Czech amateur astronomer Josef Jan Fric as a private observatory and he donated it to the state on October 28, 1928. As shown in this diagram, the reflector rests on concrete pillars. Two vertically adjustable platforms permit convenient operation of the instrument which is housed in a revolving dome of 20 meters (65 feet) in diameter. The Coude spectrograph is accommodated in a room under the floor of the dome and can be seen on the left of the drawing. Irrespective of the position of the telescope, the light from the celestial body to which the telescope points is directed into this room via a total of four mirrors
