Roman Vishniac (August 19, 1897 - January 22, 1990), the Russian-American photographer and biologist, and his wife at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in 1958. Dr. Vishniac is seen using a dissecting or stereo microscope. The small room behind Mrs. Vishniac contains another microscope and stand to which an Arriflex motion picture camera can be attached
