Schrodinger, Born, Lonsdale, Ewald
Physicists Schrodinger, Born, Lonsdale and Ewald with the Irish President Hyde (in wheelchair) and Prime Minister De Valera (far right). Erwin Schrodinger worked on quantum theory, and was awarded the 1933 Nobel Prize for Physics. Max Born also worked on quantum theory, and won the same award 21 years later. Kathleen Lonsdale worked on X-ray crystallography, and was the first woman to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1948. Peter Paul Ewald worked on X-ray crystallography also.
