Shaka Slave Market, 19th Century
Shaka Slave market in Africa. The trade continued after the emancipation of slaves in the Americas, selling slaves within Africa, into the Middle East and South Asia. The Kingdom of Zulu was a monarchy in Southern Africa that extended along the coast of the Indian Ocean from the Tugela River in the south to Pongola River in the north. Slavery ended with the European colonization of Africa in the late 19th century. No artist credited, circa 1862 and 1875
