Svante Arrhenius, Swedish Chemist

Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927), one of the founders of physical chemistry, in 1909. In 1903, Arrhenius was the third person to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his electrolytic theory of dissociation. He was the first to estimate the extent to which increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide are responsible for the Earth's increasing surface temperature
