Bunker Hill monument, Charlestown, Boston
Built to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first major conflict between British and Patriot forces in the American revolutionary war. Constructed between 1827-1843 67 meters high using granite from nearby Quincy. 294 steps to the top. Bunker Hill today is part of Boston Historic National Park
