 : Cunard Wharf, Boston

Cunard Wharf, Boston

Cunard Wharf within Boston Harbour was owned by the Cunard Line Company who had been awarded the first British Trans Atlantic steamship mail contract in 1839. Cunard held the Blue ribbon for its Trans Atlantic cruise ship crossings between 1909-1929 with its Mauretania vesel. It was the sinking of her running mate Lusitania in 1915 that caused the United States to enter WW1. Cunard were responsible for building both luxury cruisers the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth (QE)
