Cameos of Hitler, President Hindenburg & Franz Seldte

On NSDAP banners and standards the rallying cry Germany Awake was used with great effect to stir the emotions of audiences at party rallies, On 30 January 1933 Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, and achieved what he and his colleagues had been aiming at for so long. This card celebrates that appointment. Germany is (now) Awake. The small pictures show, left to right, Chancellor Hitler, President Hindenburg and Franz Seldte, leader of the right-wing Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) veterans organisation. The Stahlhelm men had joined with the SA and SS in the torchlight parades through Berlins Brandenburg Gate on the evening of Hitlers appointment and supplemented the SA and SS whenever brute force was needed
