The Generals are White and Yule and the drawing probably refers to the period known as Black Week when the Boers laid siege to Mafeking, Kimberley and Ladysmith and won victories at Magersfontein and Colenso. The card was posted on 31 March 1900 in Belgium. The battle of Colenso took place mid December 1899
