The Nazi Blood Flag paraded in Nuremburg stadium

In the distant centre of this picture is the First World War memorial built between 1927 and 1930 to honour the 10, 000 dead of Nuremberg. This is the Luitpold Arena, less than 1 km from the Zeppelin Field, the other base for mass rallies. After the 1933 rally, when a wooden grandstand had been used, a labour force of over 600 men worked for twelve months to construct permanent accommodation to a design sketched by Adolf Hitler. The Fuhrer is here walking immediately in front of the Blood Flag and in the ceremonies that followed, 75 new SS and 126 new SA Standards were inducted
