Studio photograph of a young man in a heavy dark overcoat. On the reverse is written Hamebrkx Emmanual Le 13 janvier 1915'. This is with the collection of photographs of Belgian soldier VAD patients in the Powell-Cotton Museum archive. However, the name does not appear in the Admission and Discharge books of the Quex Park VAD hospital, or in the Powell-Cotton Museum visitors book, which the patients also signed, including some who were admitted to the hospital by the Westgate VAD when they ran it for a few weeks from 15 October 1914. The Quex Park VAD Hospital opened on 15 October 1914 and closed on 31 January 1919. The hospital was run by Kent/178, the Birchington Detachment. The Commandant was Hannah Powell-Cotton (1881-1964), wife of Major Percy HG Powell-Cotton (1866-1940) of Quex Park, founder of the Powell-Cotton Museum
