Yarrow Military Hospital, rear view
Yarrow Military Hospial, Broadstairs, rear view. Sir Alfred Yarrow (1842-1932), shipbuilder and philanthropist, opened the home in c. 1895. In late 1914 the Committee of Management offered the Home to the military authorities as a military hospital, entirely staffed and paid for. This arrangement continued until c. August 1916 when the hospital was taken over by the Canadian military medical authorities. The building is now part of East Kent College, Broadstairs, Kent UK
