Robin Dale

Photographer Robin Dale was born in Stockton-on-Tees in north-east England in 1940. Many of his images show people going about their daily lives in Teesside, and capture moments of joy, contemplation and solitude, not to mention some fantastic fashion. His industrial landscapes often reflect the harshness of the economic conditions of the time as well as revealing unexpected beauty.

Muriel Dawson

As well as illustrating a number of books, Muriel Dawson has contributed hundreds of pictures for the front cover of weekly magazines from the 1920s through to the 1940s. Her colourful drawings of children were beautifully observed and affectionate and have become loved the world over.

The Michael Diamond Theatre Collection

A wonderful collections of theatrical posters and associated ephemera including theatre programmes, poster designs and promotional postcards, most of which date from the late 19th and early 20th century. Not only does this archive record some of the most famous and historically significant stage productions of the past, it's also a visual treat with a variety of bold and colourful designs by some of era's leading commercial artists including John Hassall, William Barribal, E.P. Kinsella, Nerman and Bert Thomas.
