US 29th Infantry Division Memorial Omaha Beach
The 29th, the Blue and the Grey, was a National Guard Division, and on the beach just below the memorial the 116th Regiment landed. They suffered the heaviest casulaties anywhere along all the beaches and it is the action here that features in Saving Private Ryan
