48 Royal Marine Cdo & Civil Victims Memorial, St Aubin
The 48th were part of No 4 Special Service Brigade whose task was to clear St Aubin and coastal villages to the east, and following that were to take on the radar station on the high ground at Douvres. As they moved east they were held up at Langrune which they did not clear until 7 June and the battle for Douvres turned out to be a long one
