Bedford House CWGC Cemetery, Ypres
The Cemetery area was once occupied by Rosendal Chateau, some of whose remains can be found (with diligence) near the entrance. It was used from the early days of the war as a burial ground by nearby British Field Amulances and Dressing Stations. In it is buried Temp Lt Rupert Price Hallowes VC of the 4th Battalion Middlesex Regiment who, for five days, inspired his men without thought for his own safety until killed on 30 September 1915 at Hooge
