British 6th Airborne Memorial, Putot en Auge Normandy
The Memorial Board, which is outside the Mairie, was unveiled on 6 June 2007 by Major Jack Watson MC, of 13th (Lancs) Para Bn and there is a Memorial Plaque inside to him.Jack died on 14 April 2011 age 94. The Board acknowledges and details the Liberation of Putot on 18/19 August and in particular the fighting amongst the houses and for the railway station. The picture shows the Mayor and Nicole Asmant who was greatly involved in establishing the Memorial
