C47 Propeller Memorial, Sint Oedenrode, Holland
The propeller is that of Dakota C47 KG 498, part of 437th Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force and it is set in small memorial garden. On 21 September the plane was returning from a supply flight to Oosterbeek where the men of the British Airborne Division were holding out, when it was shot down by anti-aircraft fire from the area of Sint Oedenrode. The entire crew - four Canadians and four British Airmen - was killed. The propeller represents all the aircraft that were shot down over North Brabant during Operation Market Garden
