Cafe t'Hertje - first place Liberated in Holland

Following the capture of Joe's Bridge on 10 September 1944, the following day D Squadron of 2nd Household Cavalry Regiment arrived here - then called Cafe Rustoord. The distinctive Memorial explains that... on this very spot the British Liberators set foot on Dutch soil for the first time'.
