Bravo! Mr Chamberlain, says the byline to this caption. Most people in Europe wanted peace and that included the British. On his way to Bad Godesberg on 21 September, when he thought that he had solved the Czech crisis - or when he flew back to England on 30 September thinking that he had (again?) solved the crisis he is looked confident. In both cases he was wrong. Appeasement did not work
