First American Cemetery Marker Omaha Beach
This marks the first American battle burials in Europe. It was set up by 2nd Platoon of the 607th Graves Registraton Company. Wary of demoralising incoming troops and coming under enemy fire the 457bodies were moved at midnight 10 June to St Laurent, today's main Cemetery
