This was inaugurated by Viscount Montgomey, the son of the General, in 1994. The sculpture, by Henri Lebihan, is named ESSOR which roughly translates as A new beginning. The revolving sphere represents the sea and the pillars PLUTO - Pipe Line Under the Ocean
