General Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Meautis

As the US 8th Infantry Regiment, the spearhead of the 4th Divison landed on Utah Beach the Assistant Divisional Commander, General Roosevelt, realised that they were in the wrong place and had to decide whether to signal the following waves to change course or just to accept the situation. He stayed. On 12 July he had a heart attack and died on the 13th. He was 57 and was awarded the MOH
