German Gun Bunker Azeville Normandy
This was one of the first parts of the Atlantic Wall to be constructed. There are four casemates 30 metres apart linked by 300 metres of concrete trenches. Following the landings the position held out until 9 June when it was taken by the US 22nd Infantry in an action in which Private Ralph Riley won the Silver Star
