Goering, Mussolini, Hess, Hitler & Ciano at Munich
The Fuhrer's entourage at Munich was considerable. This group, left to right, is Goering, Mussolini, Hess, Hitler and Count Galeazzo Ciano, Italian Foreign Minister and Ii Duce's son-in-law. It was Ciano who maintained the link between the two dictators and who had conducted the negotiations in 1936 which had established the Axis. During the First World War, when causes and personalities became closely identified with one another, leading poligticians and soldiers became known as Men of the Hour'. The caption on the reverse of this card is Men of the Hour
