Idyllic mountain and snow scene for Winter Olymics

The winter Olympics were held in Garmisch Partenkirchen and Hitler was there to watch them. It was very much part of Hitlers familiar territory, lying in the shadow of the Zugspitze, Germanys highest mountain, not far from Munich. The Nazis wrung effective worldwide propaganda from the whole Olympics. Special radio stations were established so that simultaneous foreign language commentaries could be broadcast, Leni Reifenstahl made a documentary film that obtained general release, and Hoffmann and his assistants took over 6, 000 photographs
