Map showing the military threats to Germany
The Treaty of Versailles limited the German Army, Reichswehr, to a maximum strength of 100, 000. Hitlers professed aim was to negate the treatys conditions and to recover for Germany her lost lands. That could be done with an army of 100, 000 and so a propaganda campaign justifying his progressive re-armament was needed. This card is part of that carefully co-ordinated campaign and was probably issued in 1935, the year German compulsory military service was re introduced
